Description

William Harwood served with the 1st/4th Battalion King's Own Royal Lancaster Regiment which was mobilised on 04/08/1914 at Barrow in Furness. They landed in France at Boulogne on 03/05/1915 and joined 154th Infantry Brigade, 51st Infantry Division.

By 17/12/1915 William had been promoted from Private to Lance Corporal. After the war, he was placed in the Class Z Army Reserve on 03/03/1919 and returned to England the following month.
