LETTER
To Family From Frank
Date written:
Description:
Message: Bulford Camp, Jan 20 1915. Dear Mater Dad Jack & Em etc, Just a line to let you all know I am still alive and kicking. I am trying for a week-end pass this week, and I stand a decent chance of getting it too, as I have to be vaccinated this afternoon. Congratulate Jack for me, and I suppose Jack is fixed up for a mate now for a long time, although I don’t suppose he will let him start carrying the tools, or pushing the truck about for some time yet. I will drop you a line to let you know if I succeed in getting the week end, and will run over and see you once or twice. How is Dad getting on? I hope he is not feeling any bad effects from his tumble the last time I was up. Had a letter from Lil yesterday, my word she has got her hands full, and she is not half the ticket herself. The 71st Company who have been training here with us, left here on Monday for Pangbourne near Reading for a 3 weeks course of instruction in Pontoon Bridging, then we go for 3 weeks and afterwards, we go to Aldershot to mobilize. We shall not be leaving England till about the middle of March, and we will be at the base (Havre) for some time. I am up to the present feeling first class, and I don’t suppose the vaccination will upset me much, not enough to spoil my week end anyhow, so I will now conclude in haste as I am very busy from your loving son and brother & uncle Frank
